The chair came in one box, fully assembled. Delivery person would only put the box in the garage, which worked. Due to the weight of the chair we needed help to bring it into the room we wanted. The width was perfect to fit thru the standard door with the door removed.
Hope this helps!
After adding the Real Relax Massage Chair to my home, it has quickly become my personal oasis of tranquility. From the moment it arrived, the setup process was a breeze. I was pleasantly surprised by how seamless it was to assemble. The straightforward instructions and user-friendly design meant that there was no need for a professional setup, allowing me to jump into relaxation mode almost immediately.
The value of this chair for the price is truly astounding. I was looking for an affordable option that didn't compromise on quality, and Real Relax delivered just that. Once seated in the chair, the variety of massages available transported me to a state of sheer bliss. The different settings ensure that each experience can be tailored to my mood or particular needs of the day, with the chair providing indulgent comfort and targeted massages that rival those of much more expensive competitors.
In terms of relaxation, Real Relax takes the crown. Whether it's unwinding after a long day at work or soothing muscles tired from exercise, this chair envelops you in a comfortable embrace and kneads away the tension. The rolling and airbag massaging mechanisms work in concert to provide a truly holistic and therapeutic experience. I find myself looking forward to coming home just knowing that this chair awaits.
While I am delighted with the quality, comfort, and overall performance of the chair, I believe there is room for improvement with the heat feature. As someone who enjoys the soothing power of heat therapy, I find the current heat setting a tad subtle. It's noticeable but doesn't have the intensity some might prefer for a deeper heat treatment.
Nonetheless, this doesn't overshadow the multitude of positive aspects that the Real Relax Massage Chair has brought into my life. Even with the heat function wanting a slight boost, I would wholeheartedly recommend this chair to friends, family, and anyone in search of an affordable slice of luxury. Truly, it's been an exquisite addition to my daily routine, and I'm very happy with my purchase. Real Relax, you've earned a resounding thumbs up from this satisfied customer!
Set up was a breeze. Unfold legs, plug it in (found at back of chair) and screw on attachment. to hold remote. Very straightforward. The chair can be operated by either the hand dial or by remote.
The chair is fairly narrow. I'm 5'4'' and weigh135lbs. My boyfriend weighs 180 and is 5'11". We both felt very comfortable in it. I'm not sure if a very wide or tall person would feel comfortable. The legs do extend for taller people.Just push down with your feet to extend it.
Pros in my opinion:
Reasonable cost.
Easy to use
Zero gravity (lays you horizontal position)
Butt and Neck massage are awesome. If it feels a bit too much, just place a blanket or use the foam packing that came with the chair to provide cushioning.
Cons in my opinion:
Couldn't tell there was any heat
Some strong vibrations from chair during certain functions
Remote is not lit , only the center which shows which body part is being massaged
Speakers are cheap
These are basically the same things that most people commented on., so it wasn't a surprise to me. But if you are looking for a top of the line massage chair, this is not for you. If you want a chair that seems sturdy , doesn't take up a lot of space , easy to use and is not too expensive. then this could be your chair.
I've only had it for a week, so time will tell if this was a good purchase.
The foot rollers are nice and work differently than my portable foot massager so the combination of the two is perfect for my plantar fasciitis and I am able to walk over 15 miles each day for work with mild foot pain now.
The back rollers are a bit rough and could go another inch or two higher but work fairly well, and reaches from under the butt to behind my shoulders.
If you want a cheaper chair this one seems a good pick for $1,500 but when comparing it to a $10,000 chair it will come up short.
The only disappointment is the control pad is not "backlit" to see all the function keys. The Bluetooth speakers work reasonably well but as a serious audiophile, they could be better. Maybe Real Relax could collaborate with Bose and create a better sound envelope.
On a scale of 1 to 10, we rate this product 9.9!
I'm 5'8" ft 160 lb, fit body type.
The chair is snug for me shoulder to shoulder, but can see how it can be a bit suffocating for people with larger build.
The noise level (from robot hand, airbags inflating, etc) is around 50-60dB
and just as someone else here said, the rattling gets louder when the roller is around the curve of my hip area (68dB)
(especially when it's doing rapid tapping/vibration motion, I thought it might snap off)
Not sure if the advertised automatic body scan technology works (supposedly adjust the massage point according to height, upon turning on) --
the roller can feel uncomfortable when it kept hitting my shoulder scapula & pelvic bone
Pros highlight:
-simple out of the box assembly (90% pre-assembled)
-sturdy built, nice faux leather material for the price point, not too hard to clean
-affordability, compared to other chairs with similar function (3d roller, sl track)
-it reaches the glute muscles & it feels damn good
-aside from the 6 preset mode, the manual mode allow for more freedom/customizability. I'm on manual mode 70% of the time.
-button controls are responsive (hold power for 2s to end message)
-3 lvl of adjustable kneading speed for intensity
-comes with 1 yr warranty
I wished that:
-there's a locking mechanism for the foot extender, so I don't have to continuously apply downward pressure with my feet
-the zero gravity lets you tilt a bit more past 145 degree
-the calf airbag can perform kneading through upper - lower calf, instead of just inflating and deflating
-the roller reach my hamstring
-the control button have backlight (hard to see with a room lights off)
*speaker sound quality isn't super high end, but it does the job
*no thai stretch massage, false ad?
*body might feel a sore after first time use, it takes time to adjust/getting used to the shiatsu massage.
hoping for it to last years to come
longevity/durability: tba
(will update if appropriate)
The USB port and sound control buttons are literally at your fingertips, which can be distracting during the massage, but the 2 biggest issues I have are:
1) The massage starts immediately after an option is selected, giving no time to properly settle into the chair and
2) The cord that powers the display runs directly between the right hand and sound control and is very annoying. This connection should have been run to the outside of the unit instead of through the seating area.
Overall it's a good product so far, but it could have been even better had more time been put into the design and testing process.
I now hit the chair at least 3-4 times a day and the improvement in my back is remarkable. I would suggest to anyone to buy this product. So relaxing and calming!
I’d give it 5 stars no doubt.
Matt
That said, I am now going to offer critiques. People spending this much money on a chair are going to want to know any downsides.
1) I saw in a Q&A about this chair that "if it rattles a bit, this is normal...". While the chair works fine right now, if this chair ever breaks, I will predict now (on day 5 since it was delivered, and I could have written this on day 1!), it will break at the curve between the lower back and the seat - and specifically while it is doing the "rapid tapping". This has a sound at this specific location of the track that is noticeably different than anywhere else.
2) This chair does not turn off easily. I had forgotten to bring my phone with me to the chair. I was mid-massage and the phone started ringing. The "off button" was non-responsive for about 30 seconds. I missed the phone call. While this was not all that serious that I missed a call, the fact that it is non-responsive to the off-button could be a serious flaw.
3) Again about the touchy nature of the screen buttons during the massage... Certain controls that DO work if you press them just right are very non-responsive unless touched JUST RIGHT. Maybe with practice, getting these controls to work on demand will be quicker and easier. But for now, this feels like the screen is poorly responsive.
4) Bluetooth... It works. But be prepared for a bit of frustration getting it to work. If the manual contains any bluetooth instructions, I didn't see it. Ultimately, my phone was able to pair with the chair IF I did the search on my phone within just a few seconds of turning the chair on. Then it worked fine.
5) USB power supply... Appears to be charging port only. I do not believe this charging port has data-transfer capability, so you have to use BT to connect. Nice to be able to charge the phone, but plugging it in does not automatically transfer the sound through the USB, nor does it cause the bluetooth to automatically connect (contrast with Android Auto, where when I plug my phone into my car, it automatically turns BT on and connects the car to the phone.
6) I tried out all 6 of the programmed massages and also tried some of the manual options. Being new at this, perhaps I overlooked how to do this, but there were certain "moves" of the machine that are present in some of the pre-programmed options that I could not figure out how to get done in the manual mode - at least for now. At some point, I will try out manual mode again and see if I can figure it out, but for now, the manual mode seems quite limited. This isn't a huge deal as the pre-programmed options are good though.
I consider the above issues I listed to be nitpicks for now and I absolutely love this purchase. I have 3 known long time problem spots on my back. Within just a few hours (using it for 15 minutes per hour for the first day), this had resolved all 3 problem areas to the point where I could hold proper posture. I reduced usage considerably after that first day to probably 2x per day and two of the 3 problem points in my back are pain free and the third is getting closer to being pain free.
AGAIN, THIS REVIEW IS WRITTEN JUST 5 DAYS AFTER RECEIVING IT. I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW LATER IF APPROPRIATE
A backlit led screen would be a massive improvement. I like to turn my lights down low to relax but then being in the chair I need a cellphone light to see what button I'm pressing.
Secondly, the bluetooth speakers are very poor. Could easily do without them and instead invested that money into a backlit screen.
Lastly, have both/either a favorites setting or "last massage" button.
Beyond that, it's so easy to get addicted to consecutive massages. Need to remember to give the body a chance to recover. And also to drink more water afterward! I look forward to years of use and better physical health overall from this.
I’ve had it for just 2 hours and don’t want to get out of it!
- Chair came well packaged.
- Chair has built in handholds and small wheels on the back to help maneuver it around (it is a bit heavy at 173 lbs but manageable).
- The preset massages are all great - be cautious if you have tender back muscles. Some massages are stronger than others. The Relax mode is terrific.
- Only home model Chair I’ve seen with glut massage - it’s fantastic.
- The price was great for the type of chair and features that come with.
- Hubby is 6’ and 250 lbs - and he’s comfy in this chair - a bit snug but still fits well.
- The Bluetooth speakers and zero gravity are amazing - close eyes, turn on tunes, recline and you’re wherever you wanna be! LOL
- Chair has a control knob that will recline the seat just tap the center to begin the first preset massage.
- The phone charger is also nice.
- The many features on the control panel are nice.
- Otherwise a great overall chair for the price.
- More to come as I get acquainted with my new bestie!!!
Update - Still loving this chair!
- The control panel screen has a clear film over the face to protect it - remove to show shiny screen underneath. (Leaving mine on to protect the screen from scratches/smudges.)
- Note: If the chair stays in zero gravity after a preprogrammed massage finishes, turn the round dial at the right hand fingertips to lower chair to the upright sitting position.
Press the dial center to toggle thru the preprogrammed settings.
It gives a really good massage. While I'm not quite at the point of falling asleep in the chair, I haven't once gotten out of it and not felt improvement. The range in the track is awesome - it goes from my 5'8" neck all the way to under my hips and butt. There is plenty of pressure, sometimes more than enough, and the different settings offer distinctly different experiences each time.
I did not give it five stars though as a few things stand out. After a few days of use, one of the air compressors started making a little extra noise. It sounds like it simply has a loose fitting, NOT like it's going bad, but the chair was so quiet that this was noticable. From time to time it also feels like the "hands" snag. I'm sure the design is made to accommodate it, but it seems odd the way that it happens from time to time. The speakers....don't buy it thinking you're going to enjoy some relaxing music because it sounds like an AM radio.
BUT, for the money, I'm totally happy with this purchase. It arrived in a single box that my wife helped me move into the house (bad back, so that made me happy). It has small transport wheels when tipped back so positioning it on a wood floor was too easy. The blue and silver...at first my wife said "that's not what you ordered?" But it looks good and actually fits in really well with our walls and curtains. Kinda funny because that was almost accidental, but it looks nice!
Finally, The foot massage is great, calf massage is good, and there are plenty of (not backlit) buttons to play with if you're trying to target a spot. For the money, I don't think you'll be sorry.
I would encourage anyone with back pain down through your glutes to try this chair. It is definitely worth every penny. The zero gravity setting is awesome. It’s like being suspended in a huge cotton ball.
I also like the airbags that help with circulation in the arms and legs in the foot rollers are fantastic. I wish the upper roller is near the neck could be adjusted a little more or maybe they can and I just don’t know how lol.
We have this chair in our living room because it couldn’t fit in our exercise rooms, so be sure to measure your doorways to make be sure it fits. I purchased the cover separately to keep over it so that dust doesn’t accumulate on it. The chair was extremely easy to assemble, just needed to connect the leg to the chair itself it was very very easy to do. it is fantastic.
I wish they offered an operations manual that I explained in detail the description various settings. A handbook via hard copy or online would be great. We are so happy with this chair. My husband works very long hours and usually will come home and unwind and sit in the chair just before settling in for bed. It’s so convenient.
At first my husband thought that it was really expensive, but when I told him how much I was paying to go to the chiropractor and followed by a full body massage. We quickly figured the chair would pay for itself. And it has. Followed by a full body massage. We quickly figured the chair would pay for itself and it Has.
So if you’re on the fence about purchasing this chair, I say go for it sit back choose your settings connect your bit your phone to the Bluetooth and relax. The speakers are great. Everything is wonderful. Be blessed!
The auto programs are great and we love the foot massaging. We have had the chair for about one month and use it a couple of hours per day. So far, we couldn’t be more pleased with our purchase!
Worth the money and so glad we purchased this chair. We got it in November and have not had a single issue.
1. Unpack from box
2. Connect 1 air tube and one power cord
3. Put 2 screws in with a screwdriver. That’s it!
The hardest part was just how big the box was, so we cut it up with a box cutter after we were finished and recycled.
The preset massage modes are more than adequate. The pressure feels just right for myself and my fiancé (we are pretty different sizes and no troubles). There are also additional controls to personalize the massage more. The footrest does extend a bit for taller users. The air cushions work well and are not too tight when they compress.
There are two blue lights on the side of ours, but are not visible when you’re actually sitting in the chair, so not distracting.
For the average person, it will be pretty simple to get in and out of the chair.
Very satisfied with the quality for the price
Anyways, I gave it a chance and took the chair and set it up in the living room. Set up was super easy, there isn't much to do except for connecting the screen and the screen holder and then plugging it in. I was relieved to find that everything is in working order and the chair works like a charm! I have been using it everyday! No real issues about the features and functions, it all works as advertised. I guess I do hope the chair holds up since the warranty is so short?
Pros: Nice quality
Affordable price
Lots of options for massage programs
Easy setup
Cons: Control is not back lit so hard to see
Wish there was a removable cushion so if you want a little lighter pressure on lower back and hips
Would like rollers on the calves area
Would I purchase again????? Absolutely yes!!! I use it almost everyday. If you’re considering do it! You won’t be dissatisfied.
Great chair for the money! We bought two, his and hers. ♡
The chair is extremely comfortable and has several massage options. In addition, there seem to be virtually limitless customization possibilities.
I've had the chair for about a month. So far I have zero complaints, and I recommend this chair without reservation!
Pros: lots of different sequences; does a great job on upper, lower back, and feet ( as advertised)
Cons: no instructions or app to describe what the different settings actually do (plenty of “try it and see”); we would be interested if we are actually getting the “fullest” out of the chair; we would also recommend that the control buttons be backlit so one can actually see (while relaxing in the dark) what buttons are actually being pushed
My wife and I both spend several hours weekly in it. The ui is kind of confusing because there's no rhyme or reason for the lay to the lay out but you end up remembering where you're go to buttons like add more time is lol my only wish would be that the control panel was back lit because you can't see anything if the rooms dim.
My buddies literally come over to use it as you can see in the picture. I have it sitting like 6 inches from the wall and have no problems going into zero gravity mode.
At this moment 10 outta 10 would recommend
I do not have good reference point from price point, but few pro and con, from my experience.
Pro:
1. Like the color and asthetic in the common area.
2. Good arm compression and back rolling wheels full S shape from neck to hip.
3. Multiple-preset modes, increase decrease speed, intensity and duration (5 to 15sec per location before moving) of massage.
4. reasonable ability to locate neck over the head-rest.
5. nice rotating wheel under-foot, loved it.
6. Foot-rest has ability to stretch for height (6.1 feel)
7. Good bluetooth connectivety for speaker.
8. nice zero-gravity rotation.
Con:
1. Leg compression can be more, specially for normal build (175 lb, 6.1feet).
2. Would be really nice to have little bit more margin to stretch the leg, may be 1 inch would have great and rest fully on the S shape curve at thigh.
3. Heating only at lower back and under foot, would have been nice to have more heat.
4. display panel can be more touch senstive, though i still have thin transparent plastic not removed :).
5. the massage chair clothing is fau-leather and feel a bit cold when settleing in. may be sit with full sleeves better.
The chair does mention that it is not recommended for diabetic people, so please seek medical advise, before use.
Overall, last purchase, had lot of thinking and was looking for reviews all over the places, before zero-in to this model. good workmanship.
The assembly is simple, just connected and attached the part for feet and attached the control panel.
The usage is simple, just explore and choose the mode you like most.
You could also massage on a specific area and skip other body areas. For example, I enjoy massaging my neck a lot.
Overall, the quality is good and the delivery is smooth.
Features we like:
- remote is easy to access, easy to adjust settings, good preset modes
- can adjust massager heads positions for your back’s needs
- massage chair adjusts your posture/shoulder location once it’s on
- zero gravity is a very nice feature to have to help body feel fully relaxed
- the hand massager on the sides that squeeze your hands is a plus
- Bluetooth speaker is nice to have if you enjoy background music with your massage sessions
Features to be improved:
- heated feature is a little weak
- foot massager is not strong for us
Am I glad I did. Great chair, delivered as promised, came fully assembled, and has quickly become my go to every evening for a massage and power nap. Totally refreshing.
I thought I might need to have a couple buddies help me haul it inside from the garage but was pleasantly surprised that my wife and I could carry it to our room easily.
It's definitely not cheap, but if you are considering buying one, I would highly recommend this one. You don't have anything to lose.
One of the first things that struck me about the chair is its superior comfort. The material of the chair is incredibly soft and comfortable, and it is perfectly contoured to fit my body. It's almost like being hugged by a cloud! It is the perfect place to unwind after a long day, and I find myself looking forward to sitting in it every chance I get.
The chair offers various types of massage, including a, relax mode, Chinese massage, Recovery massage, Strong massage, and sleep massage, and I have found each one to be incredibly effective. The chair has a smart control panel that allows me to customize my massage experience by adjusting the intensity, speed, and time of the massage.
Not only has this massage chair been a great way to relax and unwind, but it has also helped to alleviate my muscle tension and soreness after a good workout, and using this chair has been a lifesaver. The massage rollers are perfectly positioned to target the most problematic areas, and I have felt immediate relief after using it.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This massage chair has exceeded my expectations in every way and has quickly become an essential part of my daily routine. If you're in the market for a high-quality massage chair, I highly recommend giving this one a try. You won't be disappointed!
It’s comfortable, sturdy and the various different settings help to find the right speed, strength and pace for any member in the family.
With a demanding toddler boy at home, both my husband and myself constant have lower back and neck pain. This massage chair did an awesome job on our backs, necks, feet and the arms.
It has 5 different modes from Relax A1, Chinese A2, Thai A3, Recover A4, Strong A5 and Sleep A6. I normally pick A2 and A3 with Zero Gravity. It is relaxing and I even feel asleep in the chair a few times.
My husband is on a heavy built side with more than 330lbs. He always picks the A4 or A5 mode. He always jokes with me that this can be almost like having a deep tissue massage, yet with a fraction of the cost at home, at your convenience.
It does a fantastic job on our feet too. We have had this chair for a few months now and are very happy with the purchase. The only downside, my brother in law stops by more frequently now and try to get a massage in the chair too. Well, we love him but it can be a little too much. :-)
Pros: messages the whole back, has heat, has several function settings like (hard, Thai, sleep, etc.)
Cons: my only complaint on this is I wish the control panel lit up, we keep the lights off when we use it and usually only have the tv on so makes it hard to see the air pressure adjuster and zero g settings but once you hit those two buttons your off to a nice unwind.
Have two people we know interested in purchasing their own, 10/10 would buy again!
There are 5 functions plus a manual of what type of massage you can get. And there are many other functions within as well.
So far, my moms been using this chair daily for about 5hrs a day for 2 months straight and there have been no issues! It’s not too big and not too small to fit into our place and one of the Best Buy’s of this year!!
If there is one concern, it would be the intensity. I like more intensity and even when I put the massager at high intensity, I feel I can go higher.
Positives:
+ The quality of the materials, the faux leather seems durable, looks good and is nice to the touch.
+ The massage robot hands are great, and the for me having the S and L track was key. It cost a little more, but that small incremental cost increase in my mind is worth it vs only an s track which does only the back.
+ The chair coming basically assembled is a plus, although it will take two people to move it and get it off the pallet. Once on the ground there are wheels that can be used if the chair is leaned back for easier movement from one room to another.
+ There are a lot of massage options if you manually adjust the settings.
+ The blue mood lighting is a nice touch in a dark room to add that soothing vibe.
+ The airbags are great where them make strong contact such as the forearm and feet (see more below)
+ A lot of the presets are pretty intense if someone who likes high pressure massages.
+ The buttons on the control tablet are very responsive and the graphics are clear and easy to understand.
I wouldn't call these negatives, but things that Real Relax might consider improving on later models:
- The interface is a little bit cumbersome. I generally find myself using the same preset all the time A4 because I don't like the intensity of the others. A mobile app that let the user create programs would be great, and also eliminate the need for the clunky interface.
- The control panel buttons aren't back lit. So if you like to mess with the buttons a lot, you'll need to have some lighting so you can see what you are doing.
- I'm pretty thin so the air bags for the shoulders and calf are not as intense as they would be for a bigger person. Should be fine though for the typical American.
All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase and the convenience of getting a quick massage at a moments notice is worth it.
Upon arrival of my unit, I told the team the unit was to go into my bedroom on the second floor. They said "I would have had to pay extra to go up to the second landing. They are only supposed to bring the until into the front doorway". I said there was nothing on line that indicated that there was an additional fee to go up a flight of stairs. However, I offered them $30 if they would bring it up to the second landing (1 straight flight with no turns). They refused stating that wasn't enough. I asked them what they thought was fair, they suggested I come up with a different amount.
I originally told them to take the unit back, then I decided to tell them to leave it as I could get my neighbor to assist bring this 150lb unit up one flight of stairs.
While I may have missed it, I would not have mind paying extra if that was stated at the time of purchase (It is a heavy unit). I just thought the delivery team could have been more professional about the level of service they provided.
As for the chair itself, I love it and am very happy with it. I highly recommend it.
